Interior Beauty

If we would calculate how much we have spent to maintain our physical beauty, how much would it be? It’s true that some women spend more than others but we can’t deny that generally speaking women invest a lot in time and money to maintain the physical beauty. There is nothing wrong with this, I believe as daughters of the King of Kings it’s important to take care of our bodies and physical beauty however, more important that the physical beauty is our interior beauty which has an eternal purpose.
Maybe we think by having Jesus as our Lord and savior it’s enough to maintain that beauty but it’s not, God expects that in the same way we take time each day to take care of the physical beauty that we will also take time for the interior.
There are some basic principles and practices we can apply. Prayer is essential to achieve interior beauty, John 7:37 teaches us that Jesus can satisfy our thirst. In the same way our skin becomes dry if we don’t apply moisturizer daily so will our soul run dry if we don’t drink from the living waters only Christ can offer in our devotional time with Him. In the same way what we drink or apply to our skin will hydrate us, what we eat will also affect our physical bodies. The spiritual food we need is the word of God. The word will help us grow in our faith, in wisdom, and will plant us like a tree along streams of water (Psalm 1:3).
Another important thing we learn in His word, found in Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.” Forgive those that have failed you, ask for forgiveness if you are the one that has done wrong, guard your emotions, practice self-control and the 2 most important commandments “…….‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two” Matthew 22:37-40
