A Women Under Authority - Part 1 Our Christian walk is a matter of submitting our will to the will of God and woman was created with a specific plan for her life and that plan included having us submit to our authorities. What is submission? It is yielding to another’s authority, the word is not very accepted these days, because we live in a world that rebels against all authority, but contrary to the worldly view submission does not mean weakness, on the contrary a gentle women is strong because she has control over her emotions and her character. What does it mean to be gentle? A person free from harshness, sternness, or violence; to answer with gentleness is to answer sweetly, sweet words are like a soft breeze, like a word with a caress. As woman we need to be wise “a wise woman edifies her home” and at the same time full of this important quality “Gentleness” Submitted to God (James 4:7) I. Rejected God as our most high authority is rebellion
Example: Jesus was at all times, our best example, in John 8:28 he declared that he always did what is pleasing to God: He declared 2 things:
In Matthew 26:39, Jesus in Gethsemane “Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Submission to God is not as painful as way may think because God is a Loving God, though He is strong, He knows what is good for us (like with our children, submission is learned) and it makes us better followers of Christ. Luke 9:24 says “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it” II. Submitted to our Husbands (Ephesians 5:22, Colossians 3:18, 1 Peter 3:1)
It will bring blessings and peace to your life The submission to our husbands begins and ends with our trust in God and our desire to obey Him. In the second part of this teaching we will learn of other roles in our life where we need to apply submission in order to please God. |
