Your Place in Ministry
Pastor Maria Gracia

It’s important for us to understand that each and every one of us has a purpose, a place that no one else can occupy, like in a big puzzle where each piece is important, it is not complete if a piece is missing.  In the word of God we will find examples of women that found their purpose, one of them that despite her obstacles and how impossible it seemed for her, a young Jewish woman named Esther, took on a great responsibility, the well being of an entire nation of people rested on her shoulders, in the same way the well being of your family rest on yours, and it is the will of God that you do your part so that His purpose is fulfilled.

I ask you today, Are you going to take your place?  Are you going to do your part?  Are you going to fight, fast, pray and do everything necessary to win?

If you have responded “yes” allow me to share with you some of the revelations found in the book of Esther that will help you find the purpose that he prepared for you beforehand, that will benefit your entire family and the generations to come. We don’t always understand the reason for all the things that happen to us, perhaps Esther had many questions, Why me? Why this way? Why have I suffered so much?  There were many things she did not understand, the story does not reveal her initial reaction but we do see what she did.

She did not allow her past to determine her future; she could have stopped herself from continuing by listening to all the negative reasoning from her past and the obstacles she had in her life.  In chapter 2:7 we learn that she was an orphan by both parents, the enemy had played her dirty, we know the importance of the role of our parents in our lives, how they influence us and this young woman was missing both.  Who would take care of her, love her, reassure her, affirm and strengthen her?  It is proven that the absence of these first figures in our lives can mark our lives forever, but God in His mercy filled this void in Esther’s life with a paternal figure, Mordecai was placed there by God to guide her life to His purpose and she allowed him to do it.

Here we learn 2 things, we should not allow our past to determine our future and that we need to be open to allow ourselves to be guided by the spiritual authorities God places in our lives.  In the second part of this message we will see development of this story and the bravery a woman like Esther had.
