The Samaritan Woman
(Part 1 of 2) Despite her flaws, the Samaritan women brought the Gospel to an entire city. The Samaritan women of John 4:9, had many problems, we should not allow our imperfections to be a hinder us from being used by God. Here we’ll identify 5 excuses many use to doubt that they may be used to make a difference in this generation. #1 Problems of low self imageHer past and race made her self-conscious, she didn’t need for anyone to degrade her, she already had a negative self-image. It does not matter what you think of yourself, what really matters is who God says that you are; fill yourself with the word of God and his promises that declare who you are in Jesus Christ.#2 Economic problemsThe fact that she was carrying her own water shows that she did not have any servants to do it for her indicated that she was poor and she needed work. Our work should not be an obstacle for us to serve God, our economic needs can not hinder what the Lord wants to do in our lives, on the contrary these are opportunities to see the power of God in our lives.#3 Religious problems
“Our Father Abraham” spoke in this way, she had knowledge, but she was religious that understood some principals but did not have a personal relationship with God but just religion. The way that she lived shows us that though she had some knowledge but she did not live according to the values and principals, in other words she was a sinner, Aren’t we all? |
