A survey in the United States reveals great biblical ignorance.

“my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge” Hosea 4:6

The survey from the Barna Group reveals that in the United States many are ignorant when it comes to the Bible, even those that are Christians have forgotten to study the word, about 80% of the population believe that the saying “Help yourself and God will help you” is the scriptures and thirty one percent believe that you the way to heaven is by just being good.
 
Twenty two percent say that Jesus sinned while He was on earth when the Bible says the contrary and about seventy percent only know half of the Ten Commandments. For some this may be a little comical, but it’s a sad reality that many Christians are not studying the word.
 
It’s the responsibility of each believer to gain knowledge of the word, what gives us the power over any situation, as 2 Timothy 4:3-4 warns us “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths”
