A Triumph in Christian musicCarrie Underwood was just one of the many big names in the wide spectrum of stars, participating in (The Night of Women: Superstars of Country) broadcast by U.S. network CBS, but her duet with Vince Gill on a version of the classic "How Great Thou Art" managed to thrill through out the audience, the public television, and the Internet. In unexpected ways the Gospel triumphed at the gala, completely surpassing the other performances across all borders and even created a chain of events throughout the weekend following the awards. According to Yahoo, the Web search soared to an impressive 362% on the same Saturday. As if this were not enough, the video interpretation has received nearly a million hits on CBS, triggering extraordinary praise with comments ranging from "Wow! God was there," to "I'm not Christian but this is really beautiful," or even "She's an angel," to "This is the most moving version I've heard that song." The response of the public was just extraordinary and really gives us all hope that in spite the arising crisis within our world there are still people who eagerly seek to praise our Lord Jesus Christ. |
