"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong…"1 Corinthians 16:13 “How do you work every day in the middle of all these dead bodies?” This was the question of a reporter to a forensic doctor at a morgue. -“I learned to repress my emotions” That was the response from the Doctor. Learning how to repress or contain your emotions should become a strategy for resistance in the midst of the attacks and challenges of life. We should not give in to the daily pressures we face. As men in the middle of a generation that’s seeking ways to excuse and justify their lack of character, we need to face all temptation, difficulty and tribulation, knowing that when we rise up, God will rise with us. As Paul stated “stand firm in the faith”, this is what will distinguish the man of God. Don’t give up, or get discouraged before your problems but hold on to the Lord and his promises like never before and God will honor you because… “if we endure, we will also reign with him.” |
