Our memory is not fragileThose that have gone through problems and afflictions in their lives, can testify that the most tormenting part of a difficult time and a tribulation is the time we spend thinking about them. We spend hours and sometimes days reflecting on the same problems. We go in circles without finding a way out and it is there where our faith in God weakens. Our mind gets saturated with negative thoughts and we begin to project a terrible outcome. Everyone, without exceptions, has the authority to decide what we will think about and what we will remember. We can choose to remember and think of unpleasant experiences or remember pleasant ones, like in a gathering with friends or family, where we take the time to remember the pleasant past events and situations. We can see the example in David in psalms 77:11 “I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.” This decision brought him to lift himself our of the situation he was in. Before any circumstance, bring to your memory what God has done in your life. The mercy he had with you, when he healed you, when he set you free, when he protected you and when he did a miracle in your favor. These memories will bring the faith and hope you will need during difficult times. Our memory is not fragile. |
