"I will be a friend, to win a friend"

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
Proverbs 17:17

In ancient times, though technology and scientific advancements were not available, people separated a special time for relationships in a more consistent manner, therefore making them into healthy relationships; that may be relationships with a spouse, children, neighbors, coworkers or friends. King Solomon concluded that it was better to have a friend than be alone. Due to the lack of trust brought in these times, the men of this generation have opted to isolate themselves and close themselves in their own universe. They do not understand that this is only a trap of the enemy so that men don’t seek to have friendships; friendships that would bring mutual benefits.
It is important that we learn to identify and seek the people that God has placed near to us for support and help in our times of adversity. A favor, an advice, a word of encouragement and even a word from God can come through that friend that will be by our side in our difficult times. Let us seek, establish and care for good friendships, because a good friend can be “like a brother in times of adversity.”
